There is a group of creatures with no names, no faces, and who make no sounds and cast no shadows. I can't tell you how tall they are, how fast they run, or what kind of shoes they wear. They leave no footprints or calling cards. Legend has it that they come out at night and lurk the streets looking for any invitation to make their presences felt. These night lurkers, as I have been told, have no scruples and will stop at no cost to accomplish their goals. Nothing will get in their way. They are completely immune to the elements.
The night lurkers are not indigenous to just the metro Atlanta area, mind you. They can be found in every community throughout the country. There have been many reports of night lurkers in Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia. This means that either the night lurkers can swim extremely well, or they have been around since the times of Pangaea.
Why do I write about such things. Well, last night a pack of night lurkers visited my home. I didn't hear them coming, and I didn't see them go. They didn't vandalize my house, mess up my grass, or toilet paper my trees. No, the simply did what their instincts have driven them to do for generations. The night lurkers took some of my trash.
They came at the darkest part of the night and took an old crappy bench that had been left in the garden from the previous owners. I was sick of it, so I put it out with the trash in hopes it would be taken away. But it appears as if the night lurkers got to it first.
Thank you, Night Lurkers!
