With this summer's hot comedy film The Hangover comes the issue of over-hyping movies. Why do people do this? I mean, honestly, is the movie you just saw the funniest, or best, or most thought provoking movie you have ever seen? I don't think people let the movie sink in before they hype it up which really is a disservice to those who haven't seen it. Over-hype makes the movie seem crappier than it really is to those who aren't the first to see it.
On another note, I don't think it's worth the money to see comedy movies in the theater. You don't need the surround sound or huge screen to make the jokes better. Plus you don't have the option of pausing and rewinding when other people laugh too loud or too long. I hereby resolve to only see action movies in the theaters.
Anybody want to go see Funny People? I think I can wait til Netflix.
