sweet car, crappy apartment

For the last year I have been living in an apartment complex. And with most apartment complexes come parking garages. So everyday when I drive out to work and back in from work I get to see all the cars of the people living in the complex. Now we don't live in an expensive apartment, it's very much middle of the road for our area. But for the last six months or so Laura and I have noticed that there are a lot of fancy cars in our parking deck.

The nice cars we see aren't just new Toyota's that have been washed. We have seen new BMW's, Mercedes, a Maserati, and even a Bentley. My first question is, why are you living in an apartment when you have such a nice car? I couldn't imagine making a larger car payment than rent payment each month. I'm sure the people driving these cars do not own them outright. Nobody buys a luxury car with cash and drives it back to their nondescript apartment. And what do you do with such a nice car and a one-room apartment? Are these guys cruising around the suburban streets of Atlanta picking up honeys then taking them back to their place where you can microwave Hungry Jack breakfasts from your bed? Not sure.

Second, do they think nothing with happen to their car? The parking deck isn't the most safe place to park your car. You can easily get your doors scratched, the arm gate could hit your car (this happened to us), or it could easily get stolen. So if you have a nice car and you don't want to get your doors dinged by the people that park next to you, what do you do? Of course, you double park. However, in a parking deck, if you double park you are probably the first car to get keyed. Now I would never do such a thing, but when I walk by cars that have been double-parked, I wish somebody would. Just sayin'.

  1. There is a Bentley that parks in my deck too. My biggest problem though is the motorcycles that each take up an entire parking spot. You can fit two of those Hogs in one spot easy, WTF?!

  2. OMG I totally know what you're talkin about. We had two motorcycles that had two of the best spots. I vowed the day they move thos stupid bike, I was going to park my car there then walk to work.
