So as you probably all know, Cameron Diaz was recently awarded a star on the uber prestigious Hollywood walk of fame. Her name is now along side other greats such as Sonny and Cher, Martin Scorsese, Queen and Ryan Seacrest. Yeah, she is that good.
Not to say that Cameron Diaz doesn't deserve to be amongst the gods of entertainment, but what has she actually done? Let's take a look at her resume' and count down the top Cameron Diaz roles.
1. There's Something about Mary - awesome, no debate here
2. Shrek - great movie, but she is just a voice in this. Could have been anybody else
3. The Mask - what a steep drop off from #1
4. Charlies Angels, and Charlie's Angels Full Throttle - nothing against this triumphant series, but it sucked.
5. Any Given Sunday - an Oliver Stone movie which is all around pretty lame
6. What Happens in Vegas - ok, I think we get the picture.
Now lets compare this with an entertainer that has not been crowned as one of the best entertainers on the planet with a star on the walk of fame. Case in point; Pauly Shore.
1. Bio-dome - hands down, number one Pauly Shore movie. He brings the laughs in every scene
2. Encino Man - again, another great movie that everybody has seen and nobody has ill words towards
3. In the Army Now - hahahaha, I'm still laughing from the last time I saw this movie! Can you imagine Pauly Shore in the Army?!?!?1 OMG, true classic
4. Son in Law - solid movie that you will find on TBS more often than not
5. Jury Duty - seriously, the hits keep coming. Jury Duty is hilarious. Who would want to do jury duty for a murder case just to get a place to stay and a small paycheck? I'll tell you! Pauly Shore would!
The facts speak for themselves. Cameron Diaz has been in some good movies, but the drop off from Something about Mary to Charlie's Angels is staggering. Conversely, Pauly Shore has shown the ability to consistently put out solid gut-buster comedies with no meaningful drop off in quality. The only thing that Cameron could have done to boost her resume would be to replace Ashton Kutcher with Pauly Shore in What Happens in Vegas. Pauly, your star is way overdue. srsly
