Michael Jackson

Crazy news yesterday that Michael Jackson passed away. I think this pretty much caught everybody by surprise because even though he had seemed sick or whatever for the past couple years, we didn't think he would die like this. Anyway, it really sucks because I would have loved to go to one of his concerts. I remember when I was young listening to his music and trying to dance like him. I still try to dance like him, but I suck.

It will be interesting to see how people remember him over the next several years. Will people remember the goofy guy that looked like a Halloween costume running around with masks and umbrellas? Or do you think people will remember the cat that ruled the world by spinning, hee-hee-ing, and grablin his junk? Most likely it will be a combination of the two. I know that when I get in my car and an MJ song comes on, I always listen to it. I love to sing along with all of his songs and drum on my steering wheel. His songs really had, and still have, a knack for making the listener feel good and making them smile.

I cant say that I regret not going to one of his concerts because I really wasn't old enough to go while he was in his touring prime, but I have to believe it would be an awesome experience. I have seen several of his concerts on TV and the way he dresses along with his set, back up dancers, and songs that EVERYBODY knows would have to make an unforgettable concert experience.

It's kind of sad that this guy, who was probably the best entertainer the world has seen, had such a troubled personal life. I know there were issues with his father pushing him and treating him more like an employee than a son. Also, it's somewhat ironic that somebody who could perform better than anybody infront of hundreds of thousands at a time be so shy and reclusive. But I guess that's what made him Michael Jackson. The mystery behind some of the worlds biggest stars is probably what makes them the worlds biggest stars. Elvis Presley, John Lennon, and Michael Jackson. All weird in their own way, all huge mega world stars.

It's always sad to see somebody go. Hopefully people will remember the Michael Jackson of Beat It, Thriller, Man in the Mirror, PYT, Bad, Smooth Criminal, Black and White, Human Nature, Dangerous, Billy Jean, Heal the World, Will You Be There, Remember the Time, and so on.....

This one's for you Michael:
"aHEee HEEeee!!!!11!"
